Preparing manuscript
Submission Checklist
Please to gain overwiev:
- Read the Aims & Scope of Sustainable Education and Leadership in Digital Era (SELDE) and assess if your manuscript is suitable for this journal;
- Ensure to use the Microsoft Word template to prepare your manuscript;
- Make sure that submitted manuscript have been appropriately taken consideration about APA 7, publication ethics, research ethics, copyright, authorship, figure, table, and references format;
- Ensure all eligible co-authors have been included in the author list.
- Make sure that all authors have approved the content of the submitted manuscript.
Submission Process
- SELDE uses an electronic submission and review process. Manuscripts for SELDE should be submitted athttp://seldejournal.com where authors will be required to seting up an online account in the OJS system. The submitting author is generally responsible for the manuscript during the submission and peer-review process.

Accepted Paper Formats
- The accepted format for Sustainable Education and Leadership in Digital Era’ (SELDE) manuscript is Microsoft Word. When preparing manuscripts in Microsoft Word, we encourage you to use the SELDE Word Template. https://seldejournal.com/index.php/pub/libraryFiles/downloadPublic/13
- Authors are required to submit a fully anonymised manuscript.
- When uploading a version of the manuscript to be sent to the peer reviewers, authors should be refrain from providing personel informations about themselves, and remove their names, emails, affiliations, links, and the acknowledgements.
- The articles sent in SELDE should not exceed 10,000 words (including references) and may present original research.
- When formatting your manustcript, please ensure you follow the style guidelines set seventh edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA 7).
- Research manuscripts should include front matter (Title, Author list, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords), manuscript sections (introduction, materials and methods, findings, discussion, conclusions, and limitations), author contributions, conflicts of interest, references and if necessary supplementary materials.
Paper Format
- The main text size should be 21cm x 29.7cm (A4). The manuscript should be single-spaced with 2.54 cm (1 inch) margins on all sides.
- The document is preferred in Microsoft Word format. The authors are requested to use the word templates (English and Turkish) that are suitable for their writing language preferences. The authors who prefere to write English, should be use english template. The authors who prefere to write Turkish, should be use Turkish template. Turkish template users should be also write an extended english summary additionnaly.
Title and Subtitle
- The title should be concise, specific and relevant of the main document.
- Main and subtitles should be utilized in the manuscript to ensure a regular information transfer.
- The main title, byline, should be centered, 14 point, bold Times New Roman font and only the first letters of the title should be capitalized on the first page.
- There is no maximum length for title; however, keep titles focused and include key terms.
- Numbering should not be applied to main titles.
- The indentation should be applied. In the first level subtitles, only the first letters of the words should be capital and the entire title should be written in bold before and after 12nk. Text begins as a new paragraph.
- In the second level subheadings should be flushed left, bold, with the first letters of the words capital (Title Case Heading). Text begins as a new paragraph.
- In the third level subtitless should be written flush left, bold italic, with the first letters of the words capitalized. Text begins as a new paragraph.
- Do not add blank lines above or below headings, even if a heading falls at the end of a page.
Author Name and Affiliation
- The name of the author(s), and other contact information should not be typed for anonymity in the review process. After rewiev proces for accepted articles, the name of author, the name of his/her institutional affiliation,Country, and E-Mail should be written as 10 point. One author should be assigned as the corresponding author.
- When listing the authors' affiliations in a paper, if all authors have the same affiliation or if there is only one author, list the affiliation centered and in regular font on its own line, one line below the authors' names. Do not use a superscript number.
- When listing the authors' affiliations in a paper, if all authors have the same two affiliations or if there is only one author with two affiliations, list each affiliation centered and in regular font on its own line, one line below the authors' names. Do not use superscript numbers.
- When listing the authors' affiliations in a paper, if there are two or more authors with different affiliations, use superscript Arabic numerals to connect the authors' names to their respective affiliation(s).
- List the affiliations in the same order as the authors' names appear in the byline. For example, for a paper with two authors with different affiliations, list the affiliation of the first author first, followed by the affiliation of the second author.
Abstract and Keywords
- The abstract type size should be written a single paragraph10 point and Times New Roman font. The authors are requested to be sure to include a single paragraph informative abstract of 150-200 words and, beneath the abstract, 4-5 keywords. In the absract section, the authors should ensure to address the purpose of their research, describe the methods and material, summarise findings,
- Below the abstract, write "Keywords:" in italic font. Then list the keywords, in lowercase, separated by commas. Proper nouns should be capitalized.
Main Text
- The main content of the document should begin after abstract. The type size of main document (introduction, literatüre rewiev, conceptual framework, methods, findings, discussion and conclusion, suggestion, and study limitation) should be 12 point Times New Roman and 1 line spacing. Paragraph breaks should be made clear by leaving 1 line (12nk) space. Indent the first line of each paragraph of text 0.5 in from the left margin.
Publication Ethics
- If necessary, authors should be obtain an approval from the local institutional ethical board or other appropriate ethics committee before undertaking the research to confirm the study meets national and international guidelines.
- SELDE is committed to upholding the integrity of the work. The ethics statements for the SELDE are based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. In this context,fFor all parties involved to the act of publishing, it is essential to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior.
Acknowledgments
- Authors can inform to acknowledge any support given which is not covered by the author contribution or funding sections including administrative and technical support, materials or donations in kind.
Author Contributions
- SELDE is expected that authors inform their cotributions related to the conception or design of the work, the acquisition, analysis, interpretation of data and findings, the creation of new software used in the work.
Conflicts of Interest
- If there is no conflict of interest, please state. Authors must declare any personal circumstances or interest influencing the representation or interpretation of submitted research results.
Page Number
- Pages should be numbered consecutively, beginning with the page after the title page. The number should appear at the top of each page on the right.
- Use the automatic page-numbering feature of your word-processing program to add page numbers.
Tables and Figures
- The tables should be written in 10 pt, 1 line spacing (0 pt). The first letters of the words in the title of the table should be capitalized. Figures and pictures should be prepared in accordance with color printing (300 dp).
Footnotes
- If the article needs to be included in the footnote below the page, all the information in the footnote should be written in 10 font size and 1 line spacing. Direct quotations with three lines in the text should be written1 cm inside the right and left edges of the writing area.
References
- Place the reference list on a separate page after the main text and before any appendices. The title of the page should be "References" in bold and centered, with the first letter of each word capitalized. All entries in the reference list should have only one blank line between them. Also, the first line of each reference should align with the left margin, while the following lines of each reference should be indented 0.5 inches. Format of references basically follows the publication manual of APA, 7th edition (see: https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/references/examples/). A list of references should contain only those cited in the text, according to the surname.
Appendices
- To format an appendix in a paper; start each appendix on a new page after any references, footnotes, tables, or figures. Give each appendix a label and title. Use "Appendix" for one appendix, and use capital letters (e.g. "Appendix A", "Appendix B") for multiple appendices in the order they are mentioned in the text. Mention each appendix in the text by its label (e.g. "see Appendix A"). The title should accurately describe the contents of the appendix. Place the label and title in bold and centered on separate lines at the top of the page where the appendix starts.
