Reviewer Guideline
Responsibilities of Reviewers
- The reviewers are expected to help the editors in managing editorial decisions by evaluating the originality, correctness and writing of the submitted manuscripts objectively.
- The reviewers should ensure a detailed, clear, comprehensive, constructive and unbiased evaluation on the scientific content of the submitted manuscripts in time.
- The reviewers should protect the confidentiality of the submitted manuscripts to SELDE. The referee should treat as confidential documents to submitted manuscripts received for review. They must not show to or discussed with others except if authorized by the editor.
- The referee(s) should conducted reviews objectively and must express their views clearly with appropriate supporting arguments.
- The referee who feels unqualified to review the paper or knows that its timely review will be impossible should immediately notify the editor so that alternative reviewers can be contacted.
- The reviewers should notify the editors about any conflict of interest.
- The reviewers should be alert to and inform the editors of any ethical concern in the submitted manuscripts.
- SELDE appreciates and highly respects all reviewers for their review of the submitted manuscripts.
Editors' Responsibilities
- The editor of SELDE journal is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published,and is accountable for everything published in the journal. The editor may consult other editors or reviewers when making publication decisions. The editors and/or associate editors are anticipated to help decide whether the peer-reviewed manuscripts submitted to SELDE should be accepted for publication.
- The editors and/or associate editors should assure timely peer review process, the fair, unbiased, transparent and by selecting anonymous reviewers who have suitable expertise in the education science and leadeship
- The editors and/or associate editors may be guided by the policies of SELDE editorial board, constrained by legal requirements issues (plagiarism, copyright infringement and libel).
- The editor should maintain the integrity of the academic record, and always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.
- It is expected to assist SELDE and author(s) with prompt investigations, retractions, clarifications or rectifications, once any research misconduct or error is confirmed at any time.
- The editor and any editorial staff must commit to ensure confidentiality, should not use in an editor’s own research, should not disclose any information, material, e-mail, and communications about a manuscript under consideration to anyone other than the author(s), reviewers and potential reviewers, and in some instances the editorial.
- The editor(s) should privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must keep confidential and not use for their personal advantage.
- The editor should evaluate submitted papers to SELDE for intellectual content and managing with fairness frame without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the author(s).
Authors' Responsibilities
- An author should ensure that the manuscripts have not been published elsewhere or submitted to any other journal(s). An author must not in general publish paper parallel submission of the same manuscript in more than one journal or primary publication.
- All the work reported in the submitted manuscripts should be original and free from any research misconduct when submitting to SELDE.
- It should be clearly stated by all authors that there is no conflict of interest (employment, consultancy, service fee, share ownership, paid expertise, patent application/registration, grant, other financing, etc.).
- It is expected and welcomed to send SELDE the papers of caliber quality by the authors.
- SELDE requires that those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution or interpretation of the submitted papers should be listed as "authors", and all those have made substantial contributions should be mentioned as "co-authors".
- SELDE expects that appropriate acknowledgment should be given to the cited/cited work (of any person, institution or organization) by the authors.
- All authors are required to conduct prompt corrections, clarifications and retractions of their published papers when any error or academic misconduct is confirmed at any time.
Responsibilities of the Publishers
- The publisher is committed to cooperate with journal editors in order to provide appropriate decisions regarding publication procedures and maintain the transparency of editorial decisions and ensure support and guidance for the editors and all researchers when necessary.
- Under no circumstance and situation is any research misconduct permitted by SELDE. Once any research misconduct is confirmed, SELDE will handle it with prompt actions according to COPE Guidelines by notifying the authors concerned and carrying out practices such as clarification, rectification and retraction.
